Perhaps someone who is involved in advising Bainimarama and his cohorts are also reading this book. They may now have lost their way somehow as can be seen in the latest 'coconut news' about the rumblings at the Fiji Military camps. Well, some idiots are calling these rumours as inflaming the current fluid situation Fiji is in. For some, it is great because it gets to tell the people of Fiji and the world that there are strirrings at the ground level. At the very least Fijians are not sitting back and accepting all as if they are not educated. Many Fijians are now educated and vocal about the current situation and will just not sit back and accept 'crt***pp' dished out by those wannabe Fijians that think they are the only ones that have the authority and the know-how to pen their opinions on Fiji issues. To these cronies, we say move over, Fijians are now taking over virtual space with regards to Fijian issues.

The Australian National University’s Fiji expert, Brij Lal said “deepening dissatisfaction” was taking hold across Fiji.
Unrest grows as Bainimarama rule starts to grate on Fijians
PUBLIC unrest is growing in Fiji as economic woes intensify in the troubled Pacific Island nation.
Fiji has been isolated by sanctions imposed after Commodore Frank Bainimarama’s 2006 coup.
Unnamed sources in the capital Suva told The Australian ordinary Fijians were becoming “increasingly disenchanted” at the nation’s economic isolation and “failed promises” of the country’s coup leaders.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is playing down rumours of another coup. Officials confirm “background noise” linked to rising public unease over the past two months.
However, its travel advice to Fiji remains unchanged at the second lowest safety setting — to “exercise caution” due to the unresolved political situation.
One Fijian insider who asked not to be named said: “It’s difficult to establish what’s fact from fiction right now — coup rumours have been sweeping around here for the last month or so.
“I think we’re going to see a shift soon — something for the better — maybe a move (by Bainimarama) to be more politically inclusive.”
The Australian National University’s Fiji expert, Brij Lal said “deepening dissatisfaction” was taking hold across Fiji.
In the absence of a free media in Fiji, “gossip and rumour” were flourishing, Professor Lal said.
Splits also appear to be emerging in the ranks of the country’s military.
Lieutenant-Colonel Tevita Mara — the commander of the 3rd Infantry Regiment, the country’s biggest army formation — has been ordered on leave pending a corruption investigation.
More than 40 per cent of Fiji’s 800,000 population now lives below the poverty line, Professor Lal said.
Brij Lal is in dream land.
Has Brij Lal also become and agent for the Australian government just like Jone Baledrokadroka? Fiji is undergoing revolutionary changes and the people who are doing it have a clear vision of what they are doing except for the likes of Brij Lal who still look from the tunnel of the democracy that existed in Fiji under the Constitution he help created and even before that one.
The dissatisfaction in Fiji probably existed only in the cane belt area due to the problems with the mill. Otherwise, the rest of the country are fully aware of the changes happening and most understands whats being done and are keeping their patience working hard to sustain their lives.
The Fijian population have become resilient to political upheavals the country has been facing in the last 20 or so years and they have mastered how to adapt to these situations. That’s why you see people carrying on with their daily lives.
By the way, even if you don’t support the current leadership, surfing to these anti-Fiji blogs and read so many negative articles gets one depressed quickly. In the end, what these blogs does is attract resentment towards themselves. Talking about shooting yourself in the foot.
Thanks Brij keep up the good work.
I see the green goons are out again trying unsuccessfully to defend the hopelessness of their moronic military masters.
It is noted that they are now admitting that the sugar industry has gone ‘belly-up’ due to the lack of administration skills of the jaundiced junta.
I wonder if the indian firm who did the mill ‘upgrades’ [ DOWNGRADES] on the cheap is the same firm that built the collapsing bridge in India?
I thought we had stuffed up big time in Delhi but what a mess that indian supported coup in Fiji is? I suppose if you pay peanuts you get monkeys – like that baboon with a gun bainimarama!
@ Anony-mouses 1 & 2 – unless u’re so thick, one of the 1st things we note is how readily Professor Brij Lal pens his name to his opinions, ia, vacava i keri? … with all your ammo and what not? ROFL…
banana republic with martial law, might as well annaounce per till 2014, cos baini cant survive without it, johns is challenged to say something against the regime, she will find her at QEB barrack within one hour doing push up, sit up running around play ground and blow job
You can smell the green goons are at work again…likes of Anonymous above. From the goobligoog he writes one is struct instantly by the shallowness and lack of substace in his thinking typical of no brainers in the Miltary and their supporters.
While Fiji is sliding down to further troubles, its amazing that these nuts still cannot see the evil in the dictator and his junta
@Anonmouse two
Someone should shoot you in the bum, where your brain appears to be…you must be living in another planet. People in Fiji are struggling and very few are happy with what is happening. The govt. has only to restore freedom of speech to see what the people.
@anon (2) you said, quote “…Fiji is undergoing revolutionary changes..”
How ignorant are you? Ever heard of ‘structural adjustments’???
Thats exactly what Cagina Banana has done. It is not revolution, it is an attempt by coconut-head bainibanana and his cronies to try and convince all by attempting to have a clean-up corruption campaign. Thats an old excuse by the dictator to be ableto pull the 2006 coup. Theres nothing else to it. In fact theres a manual inplace for such thing written by some experts and which is obvious that those advising coconut-head have read and re-read in order to convince Fiji people and the world that this 2006 coup is a good reason to oust politically elected leaders.
Now both IMF & World Bank have yet to get convinced with what this idiot has done to give him any more funds!!
